About this product

In pipeline welding, most depends on the root pass — the first run that joins two pipes from the inside. If the root is not clean and fully fused, later passes cannot correct it, and the flaw remains exactly where stress is highest. That is why cellulose-coated electrodes for vertical-down welding are used for this work: they give deep penetration, solidify quickly and allow work along the route, in whatever position the pipe presents to the welder. PEZOS stocks BÖHLER FOX CEL, an unalloyed electrode with a cellulose coating, and BÖHLER FOX CEL Mo, a low-alloy version for more demanding conditions and higher strength, both intended primarily for root passes on large-diameter pipelines. The range follows NACE TM 02-84 and NACE TM 01-77. Electrode choice depends on steel grade, wall thickness and the specified welding procedure, so send us a specification with those details and the estimated quantity — we will check stock and prepare a quote with expert support on selection.
